Carlos Olivares - Professional Skilled in Managed Care Contracts
A health care administrator from Yakima, Washington, Carlos Olivares has worked in various positions at health care centers in California. Since relocating to Yakima Valley, Carlos Olivares has led value-based managed care with more than 100,000 patients in Washington state and Oregon for the past 25 years.
Mr. Olivares has served as president and CEO of Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic (YVFWC)/Integrated Health LLC, an organization that has expanded to 25 clinics and 2,300 employees across 35 locations throughout Washington and Oregon. In this role, he oversees clinics that provide medical and dental care, nutritional counseling, autism screening, behavioral health, employment, training, after-school education, rental and shelter assistance, energy assistance, and HIV and AIDs counseling and testing, among other services.
Over the last two years, Mr. Olivares has been a consultant for Equiscript Pharmacy Solutions, which works with community health centers to generate revenue for new technologies for patients and health centers. Additionally, he has streamlined a system to help mothers breast feed upon delivering their babies.
Considered an expert in managed care and migrant worker health care, Mr. Olivares has advocated for those without access to affordable, high-quality health care. He is nationally recognized for devising cost-effective medical services for migrant workers, low-income uninsured people, and under-insured populations.
Mr. Olivares is a member of HAAP, which provides scholarships for Hispanic students to attend university. His other activities include serving on the board of directors of Heritage University and being a founding board member of the Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences.
